Federal Pell Grant
This grant is a form of need-based financial aid, and unlike a loan, the money does not have to be repaid. The U.S. Department of Education uses a standard formula to produce an EFC (expected family contribution) number, which will determine if the student is eligible for the grant.  The maximum Pell Grant for the 2006–2007 award year is $4,050.

Is the student going to undergraduate or eligible vocational school?
What the cost of college for the student?
What is your Expected Family Contrtibution (EFC)?
Is the student going to school full-time, three quarter-time or half-time?
Student Tuition plus Dependent Care and/or Disability Expense, if any
